
Valerie Minnich, PhD, LPC, NCC, CAADC
Clinical Director of TeenHopeValerie Minnich is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Pennsylvania and is nationally certified, as well as holding certifications as an advanced alcohol and drug counselor. Valerie has worked at Samaritan since December 2020 and currently serves as the clinical director for TeenHope. In this role, she handles all clinical aspects of the program, as well as implementation, and continues to oversee research and development for the TeenHope program. Valerie graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2018 with a master’s degree in professional counseling and an emphasis in marriage and family counseling. She is currently a doctoral candidate with her dissertation study is on millennial faculty, which examines if self-efficacy (in select teaching competencies) predicts job satisfaction in this faculty population, like the previous generations before them. Valerie also has 4 years of clinical experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her young family, including three girls ages 6, 4, and 2, and a baby boy arriving later this summer. Together they explore nature, cook, bake, read, and enjoy their 2 dogs. When not in a global pandemic, they also host multiple friend and family gatherings throughout the year and enjoys many church activities.
