Jimmy Elsner

Spiritual Director

Jimmy’s desire is to care for people who care for people. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Counseling and Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grace College & Theological Seminary. He has also completed a 3 year certificate program in Spiritual Direction through the Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids. After finishing graduate school, he spent the next 5 years assisting growing ecommerce businesses scale their people and operational functions with a focus on employee engagement and integrating business systems. He loves to bring together his background in mental health, framework of the contemplative Christian tradition, and systemic perspective of relationships to help churches and organizations both understand their own culture as well as live out their values.

As a spiritual director, Jimmy emphasizes the importance of paying attention to a person’s desire as an indicator of God’s invitation to them in their season of life. This can often be a starting place for those looking to go deeper in their relationships with God. In the spiritual direction process with him, the journey is open to what the directee brings to the session as the director, directee, and the Holy Spirit partner to put their attention on God’s work in the life of the seeker.
