Core-Skills Intensive for Women Ages 40-60

The Change Through Compassion program is offering a Core-Skills Intensive class. The class is being offered for free in support of dissertation research being conducted by a PhD candidate in pastoral counseling at Neumann University in Aston, PA. We are seeking participants who are women ages 40-60, who are new to mindful self-compassion.

Participants in the Core-Skills Intensive will learn the following:
• What self-compassion is and isn’t
• Self-compassion practices for daily life
• How to motivate yourself with kindness rather than criticism
• The art of loving-kindness meditation
• How to handle difficult emotions with greater ease
• How to transform challenging relationships
• How to use self-compassion in caregiving situations
• How to enjoy your life more fully

The Core-Skills Intensive class will be offered Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm, Friday, February 9 from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm, and Saturday, February 10 from 9:00 – 4:00 pm (will include a catered lunch) at the Samaritan Counseling Center at 1803 Oregon Pike in Lancaster. Participants will agree to be interviewed by the doctoral candidate after the class at Samaritan for approximately one hour.
