Ethics in Business Conflict of Interest Policy

The following are not eligible for nomination for the Samaritan Counseling Center’s Ethics in Business Awards:

FOR-PROFIT BUSINESS AWARD:

  • Businesses in which current members of the Samaritan Counseling Center’s Board or their spouses are principals (i.e., CEO, President, Managing Director) during their term of office.
  • Businesses in which current employees of the Center or their spouses are principals (i.e., CEO, President, Managing Director).
  • Sponsors of the event in any amount above table sponsor level in the year of the sponsorship.

NOT-FOR-PROFIT AWARD:

  • Organizations in which current members of the Samaritan Counseling Center’s Board or their spouses have executive responsibility (i.e. Executive Director).
  • Organizations in which current employees of the Center or their spouses have executive responsibility.
  • Sponsors of the event in any amount above table sponsor level in the year of sponsorship.

INDIVIDUAL AWARD:

  • Samaritan Counseling Center Board members and their spouses during their term of office.
  • Current employees of the Center and their spouses.
  • Persons currently serving on the Steering Committee, Nomination & Criteria Committee or Selection Committee, and their spouses.
  • Principals (i.e., CEO, President, Managing Director, Executive Director) of sponsors of the event in any amount above table sponsor level in the year of the sponsorship.

OTHER NOMINEES THAT PRESENT THE APPEARANCE OF IMPROPRIETY:
The Nomination & Criteria Committee will consider any other potential conflicts and has final approval of Nominees presented to the Selection Committee.
