Jump Start Couples Consultation

The Samaritan Counseling Center offers the Jump Start Couples Consultation for those couples seeking a more immediate in-depth assessment of their presenting problem. We realize that situations arise in the life of couples that are distressing where a jump start into services is desired. The Jump Start Couples Consultation is an answer to that need.

We know that when partners struggle to maintain a connection, it becomes more difficult to feel loved. Over time, misunderstandings can begin to take over more and more of the relationship and lead into negative interaction patterns. These negative ways of relating block the ability to be vulnerable and stay close emotionally.

The Jump Start Consultation is an opportunity for couples to meet with an experienced couple’s therapist within 10 business days of calling for that first appointment.

The 2-hour consult is structured to assess and define:

  • Current stressor
  • History of the problem
  • Impact on the couple relationship
  • Partner behaviors that block closeness
  • Longings and fears
  • Couple’s strengths
  • Recommendations for next steps

During the Jump Start Couple’s Consult, the therapist will meet with the couple together and then each partner individually. The partners will then take a short break while the therapist completes the consult form. When they reconvene, the therapist will review their assessment with the couple and discuss their recommendations for next steps.

The two-hour consultation will be with one of these couple’s counselors:

The fee is $300 per couple and is not billable to insurance.

Every effort is made by the Samaritan Counseling Center to schedule a consult for the couple within 1 week of their initial phone call.

To schedule a consult, please call our office at (717)560-9969.
