His work includes HR systems, process improvement, retained search, compensation and performance appraisal programs, talent management, dealing with the human and legal aspects of reduction in force and organizational surveys.
Dave has extensive experience as a teacher, trainer and motivator. Interacting effectively with people from senior executives to frontline employees, he understands the impact of clear communication and targeted training on an organization’s bottom line. Dave has conducted numerous onsite learning and performance seminars, with consistent results and high ratings from both attendees and supervisors. He has created public seminars on a variety of topics, including interview training, basic and advanced supervisory programs, assertiveness and time management. Dave facilitates executive board retreats and organizational planning sessions in person and online.
Kristen Albert, Ed.D.
Kris brings a wealth of experience as an Executive, Leadership, and Life coach to her work at Samaritan Business Consulting. From her 30 years in the field of education and leadership, Kris brings a unique perspective to the world of business. She specializes in coaching business leaders, helping them discover unrecognized and untapped opportunities for learning, and empowering them to create new ways to navigate the multitude of challenges that are ever-present in today’s fast-paced and competitive markets. Her areas of expertise include Ontological Coaching®, organizational health, strategic planning, communications facilitation, team building, group facilitation, leadership development, reflective practice, and program planning. She has worked with a variety of for-profit and non-profit organizations, including churches and schools, and a significant percentage of her clients are engaged in entrepreneurial endeavors. Kris’ methods are based in research and enhanced by her reflective, visionary, and inspiring approach to problem-solving. Kris offers her skills at Samaritan Business Consulting as an executive and leadership coach, and looks forward to helping leadership teams, boards, and organizations engage in strategic conversations to improve organizational health, build and repair trust, engage in healthy conflict, gain team commitment and set direction, assure accountability, and overcome distractions and focus on results. She plans to extend her work at SBC to provide support for women entrepreneurs and business leaders to help secure success in a competitive business environment.
Karen brings a wealth of experience providing training solutions to business and industry in the Central PA region. She specializes in needs assessments and training solutions in the areas of supervision, communication, motivation, coaching, and human resource management. Most recently Karen was the Director of Continuing Education for Penn State York, including Penn State, The Lancaster Center. With extensive experience in academia, hospitality, management consulting, construction and utility industries, she has worked with manufacturing, service and not-for-profit business clients in the area. Karen has led workshops in supervisory skills training, motivation, communications, leadership development and change management. She received a Master’s degree in Human Resource Development from Villanova University, is an engineering graduate of Penn State, and a retired PA Registered Professional Engineer. Karen also holds the human resources professional certifications Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). Karen is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Lancaster SHRM. She and her Golden Doodle Willie are a certified pet therapy team with KPETS (Keystone Pet Enhanced Therapy Services).
With over 25 years of experience as a counselor, trainer, consultant and manager, Jeff specializes in workplace issues such as executive coaching, performance enhancement, team building and career planning, and working with diverse individuals and organizations. He has assisted many companies and leaders with developing their capabilities and has a particular interest in helping passionate leaders achieve their potential, working one-on-one and in group settings to offer feedback and challenge the status quo.
Jim’s passion is to help organizations improve and individuals grow and develop. He helps organizations in the areas of HR compliance, training, staffing, employee engagement, leadership coaching and development, performance management, and many other human resources areas. Jim has over 20 years of executive-level human resources experience within several industries and company sizes. In addition, he has senior operational leadership experience and has served on and led several organization boards. Jim holds a Masters of Business Administration (with concentration in Human Resources Management) from Penn State University and a Bachelors of Secondary Education from Millersville University. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) through the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
Amy handles all eCommunications and Marketing for Samaritan Business Consulting, including the monthly eNewsletter, and public seminar/trainings schedule and registrations. Amy collaborates with outplacement and career clients, creating resumes, customized cover letters and professional presentation pieces that accurately and quickly communicate clients’ experience to prospective employers. Having experience in information technology and statistics, Amy also facilitates 360 feedback, employee engagement, and organizational surveys.
Sherill joins the Samaritan Business Consulting group with extensive background in assisting individuals and organizations to become more effective. Sherill designed and developed an HR department for an organization and served as the HR Director for 15 years. As part of the leadership team, she helped lead strategic planning, systems review, and change management. Her work in HR included recruitment, conflict mediation, counseling, crisis management, critical incident stress debriefing, coaching, team development, policy writing, and training. She successfully helped to lead the organization through cultural change to operating as a team out of persons’ strengths. Sherill previously worked for 11 years in Swaziland, Southern Africa. She is passionate about helping every organization find a greater degree of health and effectiveness. She offers her skills at Samaritan Business Consulting in helping organizations in:
